The bacillus bacteria and it’s nutrients are encapsulated in the capsules, which are then added to the concrete during batching and then mixed prior to casting, during the process of curing, the shrinkage cracks will rip apart the capsules, and in the presence of water and air, the bacteria would feed on the nutrients and produce limestone, which would heal up the cracks.
Typical applications include:
Tunnel elements
Liquid-containing reservoirs
Basement walls
Sub-surface constructions
Marine constructions
Bridge and parking decks
Flooring systems
As a general guide, between 5-15kg of healing agent is added per cubic metre of concrete.
